Gregory N. Mayfield

Greg Mayfield's practice has focused on various areas of general corporate and commercial transactional law, including real estate, finance, and banking. Mr. Mayfield is experienced in many types of complex transactions and arrangements, such as acquisitions, dispositions, financings, restructurings, and healthcare services. He has worked with clients as outside counsel, in-house general counsel, and consultant and assisted them with a range of matters involving regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and the financial, operational, and strategic aspects of business initiatives. Mr. Mayfield's previous experience includes serving as Executive Vice President and General Counsel of a regional financial institution. Before that, he practiced with a large international law firm in Atlanta. Prior to entering private practice, he served in a variety of senior positions with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Mr. Mayfield received his undergraduate degree with a major in accounting from The University of Alabama. He earned the designation of Certified Public Accountant in the State of Alabama. Mr. Mayfield received his Juris Doctor, with honors, from The George Washington University Law School and is a member of the State Bar of Georgia.

Melissa A. Tracy

Melissa Tracy's practice focuses on representing government entities involved in litigation in state and federal courts. She has litigated matters in Georgia state courts at all trial and appellate levels, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, and the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals. She has extensive experience briefing and arguing issues of sovereign immunity affecting governmental clients. Ms. Tracy also has experience advising governmental entities and regulatory boards on matters arising under state and federal law, including the Georgia Open Meetings Act and Open Records Act, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act ("HIPAA"), the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act ("FERPA"), and the Georgia Administrative Procedures Act. Prior to joining Jarrard & Davis, LLP, Ms. Tracy practiced for more than eight years as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Georgia, serving in both the General Litigation and the Regulated Industries and Professions Divisions. She also has prior practice experience in the areas of domestic relations and insurance defense litigation. Ms. Tracy received her undergraduate degree in Communication from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She then earned her law degree, cum laude, from the University of Memphis, where she served as an articles' editor for the University of Memphis Law Review.
